Being a photographer, you would assume that I have walls full of photos of my family, tons of photobooks, and a nicely categorized hard drive full of my digital files, right? Wrong. I'm TERRIBLE at editing personal photos. There are two reasons for this: first, client photos come first, and second, being a photographer, I can't resist shooting all of my personal photos in RAW and editing them the same way I do my clients' photos. I know, I have a problem. I'm working on it. Anyway, back in May my family attended my cousin's wedding. Naturally I took my camera and shot pictures during the ceremony and reception. A few weeks ago, I got an e-mail from my cousin asking if he could see my photos. I guess they're less than pleased with the work of their photographer and were hoping someone got some decent shots of the ceremony. I was a bit embarrassed that I hadn't already edited those photos and sent them to him. I honestly always intended to give him a copy (and not more than three months later). So FINALLY, here they are, the photos from Joel and Laura's Memorial Day weekend wedding. Keep in mind that these were not shot with my professional camera and were completely from the vantage point of an attendee sandwiched in the middle of the congregation, not a photographer. Isn't that dress gorgeous?! I may be slightly obsessed with wedding dresses. My adorable cousin Emily and her husband Tim. We're anxiously awaiting an announcement. Any day now! My girls loved the wedding cake topper, but not as much as the individual wedding cakes on the tables (such a cute idea!)...especially Monkey, as you can see below. In her defense, her Aunt Allie did it first! Congratulations to Joel and Laura on your wedding. Sorry your cousin is such a slacker when it comes to family photos. Love you!

I'm so excited to finally be sharing photos from my most recent wedding. I had so many favorites, it was hard to narrow it down to just a few to post. Be sure to check out my facebook album for more. I love this one! I don't remember what he said or did to make her laugh, but they're both so funny that I was probably cracking up too. The bride's reaction after reading a note from the groom. I posted this one earlier this week on my facebook page. It was the bride's idea to recreate the movie poster from "Bridesmaids". It took awhile, but I think the result was worth it. Awww...some love for mama. Too sweet! The reception had a very impressive candy bar. And notice the attention to detail. These Nuggets are all wrapped in coordinating paper and a "thanks for coming" note (and they were the first thing to go...not that I spent a lot of time by the candy or anything...) I think he was trying to be funny, but I kind of like how it turned out. Congratulations John and Andrea! I know you'll have a beautiful life together, full of lots and lots of laughter!
Before I veg out for the night, I wanted to post a quick sneak peek from the wedding I shot last night. The bride is a friend and fellow photographer. I met her new husband for the first time at the wedding, and from what I now know of him, he's absolutely perfect for her. They are both wonderful people, and they put on a pretty awesome party last night! John and Andrea, I'm so happy for you both. Enjoy your sneak peek. And John, thanks for humoring me with this photo. I think it turned out great, even if it was a bit hard to pose.
I'm so excited to finally be sharing the photos from my sister's big day. It was a huge honor to be able to photograph her wedding. It really adds something special when you care so much for the bride and groom. Here are a few of my favorite moments. You can view even more photos from the wedding by following this link, or by checking out my facebook page.
I'm busy in my office (ok, the corner of my kids' playroom) editing photos from my most recent wedding assignment. This job was extra special for a few reasons. First, the bride was my sister. Second, my girls were the flower girls (yes, there are a disproportionate number of pictures of the flower girls). And third, the ceremony was held in Key West, Florida. What an amazing place to get married! We had a wonderful time, both at the wedding and spending the weekend in paradise with our family. I haven't had a lot of time to edit photos yet since we just got back, but I wanted to pick a photo for a quick sneak peek for the bride and groom. Typically I'd pick a photo of the happy couple, but I couldn't resist showing this picture. We had so much fun shooting it. We called this the magazine shot. The positions are posed, their conversations are faked, but the laughs are real (in fact, I think I was laughing when I took it). My sister told me afterwards what they are saying. Too funny! I think everyone had a blast at this wedding. Congratulations to my sis and brother-in-law. I can't wait to show you the rest of your pictures!
