And ladies, see that cute little bow she's wearing? My sis is super talented with a crochet hook. She made that especially for our photo shoot, and she's offered to make me some to use for future clients. I'll soon have them in pink, blue, and neutral colors. Yay!
Today's sneak peek is a really special one for me. My baby sister is having a baby! I was 8 1/2 years old when my youngest sister was born, and I considered her my own baby when Mom brought her home from the hospital. Now all these years later, she's having a baby of her own. And the best part...she lives here in town, so I get to spoil that baby like only an aunt can do!

My kids are subjected to lots of photo sessions. Not only do I love to document their childhood, I just love taking pictures. Fortunately they're good sports about it. While backing up my 2012 photos, I came across another "lost" photo session from our summer vacation. Last summer we vacationed in Northern Michigan, and as part of that trip we spent the day at Castle Farms in Charlevoix. Believe it or not, these buildings were once barns for animals. Crazy! I decided to take advantage of the beautiful setting and get some summer photos of the girls since I never took their official "3" and "5" year portraits. Monkey wasn't all that thrilled to pose for pictures, but as always, I love how her personality shines through in the photos I did get of her! Stone plus brick plus my beautiful girls...love, love love! This next one is one of my favorite pictures ever of Monkey. It's in the children's garden. (Her real name starts with an "E".) This place is totally worth the price of admission if you're ever in the area. It's not a real castle, but the kids don't know that. There's a scavenger hunt, a children's garden, model trains, giant chess sets, and gorgeous architecture (even if it is just a fancy barn).
I've said it before, and I'll say it again...there's nothing like dandelions to keep toddlers and preschoolers interested in a photo shoot. Check out my facebook page for the complete album.
Mini sessions are now available for the month of November. Mini sessions are only $35! Take advantage of this limited time deal for your holiday cards and gifts. Or use the opportunity to give my services a try for a great price. A mini session includes: - a 1/2 hour photo session at a location of your choice on the northeast side of Indianapolis - an online photo album with 10-15 photos from your session (photos will be watermarked) - one high resolution JPEG of your favorite photo with full printing rights for holiday cards, gift giving, etc - the opportunity to buy a CD of your entire album, with full printing rights, for an additional $25 For more information, check out my Specials page. Hurry, this deal ends at Thanksgiving! And to better introduce my mini session special, I'd like to present my first mini session clients. Their mama was looking for a Christmas card portrait, and since it was just about to rain, the mini session was about all we could have squeezed in. No matter, the girls had a great time, and they look absolutely adorable. Honestly, I don't think our timing could have been any better. We must have hit peak fall color this week, because it was gorgeous! Check back in a day or two for a look at these girls' full photo gallery, to get an idea of what you can expect from your mini session. Have a great weekend!
Monkey just celebrated her second birthday, and last week we finally had warm enough weather for some 2 year old portraits. I decided to try again for an elusive portrait of the two girls together where one of them isn't squirming or making a silly face, and guess what...I got it! Well, close enough anyway. Monkey is about to grow out of this white dress, so I only had one shot. The best part was that we had a wonderful time. We did most of the shoot with just the three of us. The man joined us after work for a picnic on the lawn, and we headed out for ice cream after as a reward for the girls (hey, if it takes bribery to get a great shot, I'm all for it). Here's my big girl. I can't believe she's 2! If you need to get small children to sit still, find a dandelion. This is why we call her monkey. This girl climbs everything! The best smile of the evening. This is when she saw her daddy arrive. He gets all the best smiles. Another smile for daddy. Oh how I love to watch toddlers run. Their bodies just wiggle with excitement. Monkey pumps just one arm when she runs. The faster she goes, the faster it pumps. I love it! Costume change. Check out the sparkle shoes. Totally impractical, but she loves them. She's my little fashion bug. More dandelions. We found this flower on the lawn (already picked by someone else). It kept her busy for awhile. And because I can't resist getting pictures of my first born, a few of Bug. Isn't she gorgeous?! Seriously, she takes my breath away sometimes! Also a big fan of dandelions! I love this picture! Bug is a little blurry, but I love the shot of the dandelion as she's blowing it. This photo wasn't posed. As we ran out of dandelions for them to blow, the girls decided to share. Ah, I love it when they get along! This one is going on my wall. And finally, my favorite shots of the girls together. Saving the best for last. This one is going on the wall as well. It's a perfect depiction of their personalities. Bug is my serious one. Monkey is my silly one. So alike in looks, so different in personality. By the way, am I a lucky mom, or what!
