I have just had the best summer...hanging out with my kids, relaxing, sleeping in and soaking in the sunshine. It's hard to believe it's over, and my house is once again empty with the kids back at school.
I took the summer off from photography (well, professionally...I took a TON of pictures this summer!), so my blog has been sorely neglected. Before my summer break, I had a very busy spring. I expanded my horizons a bit by doing portraits for a local preschool. Maybe I'm crazy spending two days photographing a ton of preschoolers, but I loved every minute of it! In fact, I loved it so much, I begin teaching preschool this September! I had a few wonderful parents sign releases for me so I could showcase some of my work. Better late than never, right? I just finished editing my niece's album for my brother and sister-in-law. This sweet little thing was not a very cooperative subject. She fussed the entire time and absolutely hated my hats, headbands, and diaper covers. However, she loves her daddy! He was able to get her settled down time and time again so we could snap a few pictures. It was a wild afternoon with a crying baby and two big brothers who adore their sister and wanted to get in the shots (or maybe they just wanted to jump on my giant posing pillow). But I got lots of cuddles in with this sweet girl and had a blast listening to my nephews chatter on about everything under the sun. Family is the best!
I'm excited to introduce you to my sweet little niece. After a handful of nephews, it's nice to have another little girl in the family!
I know his sign says that his heart belongs to Mommy, but I think I may ask this little guy to be my Valentine. Shhhh...don't tell my husband.
Here they are, the last clients of 2014. I'm planning to make some changes for 2015, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out these little cuties. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
Here's a sneak peek of a chilly little session I had today. Little brother was getting fussy, and instead of reaching for mom and dad, he snuggled his head into big sister's shoulder. They are just too sweet! Enjoy your sneak peek!
This family faithfully hires me to do their portraits every fall. They have a gift for picking the day with the best weather and prettiest fall color of the season. This year they asked to do something a little different, so we headed downtown Noblesville for their portrait session. I've been wanting to do an urban session for a long time, so this was an absolute blast for me. And because it's Noblesville, "urban" includes some cool looking grain silos. I just love the textures in all of the backdrops we were able to find. This may be my new favorite place for a photo shoot.
This is the first photo session I've done at a playground. This amazing family raised all the money to construct this playground in memory of their one year old son who passed away last year. It was a fitting place for pictures as they're about to welcome a new member of the family. And what better prop for a playground than balloons!
I just wrapped up this family's order, and I'm so excited to share them. This was probably the easiest photo session I've ever done. Not only did these kids give me the sweetest smiles, but I swear no one even blinked. Their pictures are gorgeous. Enjoy!
